The Cyberpunk 2077 1.5 update was released on February 15, with the 1.6 Update arriving 6 months (and 23 days) later on September 6. When is the next Cyberpunk 2077 update coming?Īt the time of writing, there is no confirmed release date for Cyberpunk 2077 Update 1.6 and it’s worth keeping in mind that CD Projekt Red has most certainly moved development to other projects since the game released. So for any fans of Night City who might be keen on knowing what’s coming next, read on, for absolutely everything we know so far about Cyberpunk 2077 Update 1.7 Although CD Projekt Red has decided to cease all major updates for PS4 and Xbox One consoles so they can focus on current-gen consoles and PC, there are still plenty of good things to look forward to for the game. Whilst update 1.5 was a soft relaunch for the game, update 1.6 started to add a whole load of transmog features and more player customisations that fans have been requesting for months on end.

At this point, CD Projekt Red is better off shifting focus to the sequel because no amount of patches and QoL upgrades can fix Cyberpunk 2077's underwhelming story. There seems no denying it now, after one of the rockiest launches we can remember, it seems clear that Cyberpunk 2077 has well and truly turned the corner. Meanwhile, The Witcher 3 is all set to get a next-gen remake soon and even some content from its Netflix adaptation. Phantom Liberty will also be the only story-driven DLC launched for Cyberpunk 2077, which is disappointing because CD Projekt Red claimed the game would have more downloadable content than The Witcher 3. It is also rumoured to unlock a new ending. Events of Phantom Liberty are expected to take place in a previously-inaccessible area of Pacifica and allegedly feature a new protagonist. If previous titles are anything to go by, one can expect the DLC to cost between US$10 and US$20.

Unfortunately, it won't be free.ĬD Projekt Red told Gamesradar in a statement that Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty would be a paid expansion. Meanwhile, the only major piece of content to look forward to is the upcoming Phantom Liberty DLC. There's a sequel in the works, too, but that is unlikely to see the light of day anytime soon. Despite its rocky launch, CD Projekt Red managed to salvage Cyberpunk 2077 quite well by topping it up with a steady stream of patches.
